What is your philosophy or your mission here at Divorce Matters?
Overall, our job as lawyers is to guide our clients through a very complicated legal process with humanity and empathy. That’s our core focus, and it’s what we strive for here. Our mission is to help families during their time of need. We take pride in the fact that we truly make a difference. Whether it’s helping families lower their interest rates or ensuring they’re supported through difficult legal times, we aim to ease their burdens.
Families come to us in a time of need—a significant life event—and how we handle our clients during that time is what sets us apart. That’s one of the reasons I partner with iLendingDIRECT, because you understand how trying this time is for Colorado families, and how we manage these situations is important to both our business and our clients.
Doug, what do you find when you’re counseling couples who are getting divorced, particularly around their autos? How do you counsel them, especially if they’re both on the lien?
More often than not, both parties are on the lien and title. So, we work to get an agreement in place as early as possible regarding who will be responsible for each car. Eventually, the vehicles will need to be retitled in each person’s name, and we have a partner who handles that. Divorce is incredibly stressful. I can’t imagine anything more stressful, other than a death in the family. What we do is take care of all the paperwork, including the titling. All we need is five minutes of your time, and we may be able to save you money by refinancing your auto loan.
We deal with human emotions at their most difficult times, so anything we can do to make that process simpler, easier, or less contentious, we want to do. And that’s where iLendingDIRECT comes in, making the process easier for our clients during their divorce. We truly appreciate the partnership, Doug.
Our mission aligns in that we’re there for people during both the good times and the tough ones.
