5 Ways to Keep Cool Before School Starts

1. Water World (Federal Heights, CO)

This one was obvious and had to make any list of water activities in the Denver area! Admission prices are based off of height. Anyone under 40” receives a free ticket, anyone under 47” inches costs between $31.99 and $36.99. Adults over 48” tall cost between $36.99 and $42.99. Walk up tickets will be more expensive! 2. Paddle boarding at Chatfield State Park (Littleton, CO)

This beautiful park south of the city has awesome rental options available for their reservoir. There is a $10 park entry fee. You can find paddle board rental options available outside of the park at 5280 Paddle Sports for $25 and hour. The reservoir also allows other water activities, including boating and water skiing, jet skiing, and swimming.

3. Carter Lake (Loveland, CO)

This one is a little more out of the way, but offers a cheaper option for a fun beach day! Admissions is only $9 for your whole car. So, what is there to do? Better question is what isn’t there?? You can bike, hike, boat, swim, fish, and even scuba dive! Carter Lake Marina even offers boat rentals and an on-site restaurant.

4. Boulder Reservoir (Boulder, CO)

The Boulder Reservoir is a gorgeous reservoir with beautiful mountain views! With a small entry fee, you can enjoy boating, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, and swimming! You can rent the kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards. There is also a small snack bar to enjoy!

5. Tubing at St. Vrain Creek (Longmont, CO)

Vrain Creek offers and amazing new float course for the public to enjoy! This course was created and is made up of 9 smaller rock fall areas to keep you moving downstream. You can use this course with either a tube or kayak or small boat. This is a fun option for kids, as well as adults!
