Video Transcript:

Child support in Colorado is calculated looking at the gross monthly income of the parties, and then if a party is receiving maintenance, that will be included in the income for the party receiving maintenance and then the courts are going to be looking at the amount of overnights each parent has with the children and there’s a number assigned to that. And then we ”˜re looking at certain adjustments that can be made, so adjustments to that figure would be for child care, whether it’s for work or education, then we can have adjustments for extraordinary medical expenses, travel expenses can be included sometimes, and healthcare expenses. So adjustments to the child support, could be child care expenses, health care expenses, extraordinary medical expenses. Divorce Matters® actually has an application that you can download onto your phone and you can input all of your information, so you can input your gross monthly income, the gross monthly income for the other parent, who’s paying health insurance premiums, child care expenses, you can input all of that information and it’ll kick out what the projected child support calculation is.
