Jason Thacher wanted to become an attorney because he likes helping people. It may seem cliché, but it’s true! The law is especially confusing and overwhelming and Jason’s goal is to make it as easy to understand as possible.
Jason is an attorney with years of experience as a prosecutor and defense attorney. After many years in criminal law, Jason decided to transition to family law so that he could better accomplish his goals of helping people through the legal system. Jason uses his time as an ADA to inform his family law and criminal law practice for Divorce Matters, especially using his litigation skills and adeptness in the courtroom. Jason likes to say that, “people going through a family law case are good people in a bad spot” and he treats his clients accordingly.
Jason knows that proper attorney communication is incredibly important to anyone having to go through the Colorado court system. Clients want to know what their options are and Jason wants to make sure that each of his clients knows exactly what they are facing and how they can work together to accomplish their goals. In the end, Jason hopes that he is able to empower his clients by guiding them through the difficult processes of divorce and co-parenting.
Outside of work, Jason loves enjoying the great Colorado outdoors on his bicycle and enjoys attending Rockies games! He also likes to volunteer his time to the Colorado Lawyers Committee and as a foster caretaker at the Denver Cat Cafe!
